Things to Consider When Looking for a Roommate
Published on Saturday, 26 December 2009

Living with someone in the same place is not as simple as it seems. When you are looking for someone to share the rent and bills with, you cannot just get anyone. Even your friend may not be a good candidate for a roommate. You really need someone whose personality and lifestyle will match with your own.

Take note that people tend to be very tidy while others could be messy. You too can either be messy or tidy. If you are messy, a very tidy roommate would be irritated and annoyed every time you leave a mess by the sink or on the table. The same thing will happen if you are tidy. You will also be mad at your roommate if he or she has the habit of leaving things around. This will only lead to arguments and disputes later on.

Now if you want some time alone too, you may prefer a roommate that has the opposite schedule as yours. This way, you will not be in each other's way most of the time. You will be working when he's home and you will be home when he's working. But if you want some companionship you would love staying home with your roommate or even spending time out with him too.
